Furthering the platform initiated by FACEBOOK to post a STAY HOME profile photo, here's the POST-A-"STAY HOME, Stay Safe" PHOTO RELAY CHALLENGE (read below for the easy steps to this), a unifying Symbol of *********************SOLIDARITY**********************with those on the frontline continuing to fight Covid-19 (including healthcare, essential workers , Covid-19 volunteers and scientists) during this pivotal time.
NOW more than ever, whichever re-opening phase we are at regarding the economy, our nation must CHOOSE PUBLIC HEALTH (and PRICELESS HUMAN LIVES ) over "re-opening the economy." BTW, this sentiment was also suggested in a recent opinion made by a popular political TV figure...any guess who? Stay tuned...
Re-opening the economy does NOT equal doing so immediately (as some were misled by its mere mention by various leaders). Whether or not a particular region has already "allowed" for it, "re-opening the economy" ideally occurs in multiple stages, with each occurring AFTER, not before, public health qualifications have been met, plus guidelines / protocols (for each industry, entertainment included ) have been carefully thought out and laid out . Thus, "re-opening" should NOT be confused with a quick and complete return to normal life. (Of course, the latter CAN wait until this virus is FULLY contained...through persistent adherence to wearing masks, physical distancing, more widespread Testing, more contact Tracing, available & effective Treatment).
Given the continuing severity of the pandemic, much worse than any of us expected, I believe it is better for the society to ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION , ahead of the point of NO RETURN. Unfortunately, BOTH public health and economic success are NOT likely to occur simultaneously in the near future. By choosing the economy OVER public health (if one must choose just between the two) in short-term decisions, this could actually result in IRREPARABLE harm to BOTH the economy and public health down the road. But it is not too late! LET'S JUST BEWARE (Staying home Unless Essential) for the good of others in our nation and the world!!...
At the THIS TIME, I hereby appeal to EVERY ONE of us to make the most out of our social networks by doing the following SIMPLE step (or even better both steps): 1) PUT UP A PHOTO (feel free to use THIS ONE) with the words "STAY HOME, STAY SAFE" (or at least to that effect- of course Essential Work is exempt ) as your profile pic, OR else as a post. 2) ATTACH A MESSAGE to that pic (feel free to copy any part of this) asking others TO CONTINUE THIS CHALLENGE !!!
Whether you participate or not, in the very end, your circle of friends / neighbors/ and others in your network will be GRATEFUL to you for contributing YOUR UNIQUE PART and VOICE to the worldwide COVID-19 effort by OWNING UP to the virus and ultimately defeating it (not just flattening the curve but CRUSHING IT !). Our collective patience and actions, large or small, do forever shape the health and quality of life of our BELOVED nation. GO #QUARANTEAM !! #STAYHOME

OK,... the "long" WAIT is over, people! DRUM ROLL...Here is the REVEAL for those of you who were wondering whom I was asking about (on my timeline under my POST-A-"STAY HOME Stay Safe" PHOTO RELAY CHALLENGE) and for anyone else curious what this is about. In hindsight, I was surprised that my opinion on my [previous] post happened to be on the SAME wavelength as his in a FEW aspects (see if you can catch them all starting around 12:08 of the 1st video in the following link). Below is Anderson Cooper's interview with this "popular TV figure", where around 17:08 of the video he answered, "If you don't fix the health side of it, the economy is never gonna get right":

Only recently heard on TV and then confirmed here covid-19 IS MORE contagious than the seasonal flu (R0=about 1.3). If we ALL knew this info over 2 months ago, the whole covid situation would've been A LOT better. Knowledge IS em(POWER)ment ! Attention (AFM) musicians: Anyone has insight (including resources from AFM or forums) into how orchestras are/have been discussing or have set out physical distancing/safety measures in the re-opening stage? Or are there re-opening guidelines written by the state specific to arts sector groups? I know this may be an early heads-up, but feel free to PM me if you can share how your orchestra is preparing these protocols (especially with regard to their musicians).

THERE, FINALLY. So now we ALL have a much simpler approach: Which of the two options would you choose? 1. Simply wear a mask to avoid this virus OR 2. Do not wear a mask and risk danger? OF COURSE, #1 hands down!! COVID-19, I think we have figured your 'sneakiness' out, so you must prepare to surrender SOON !

At this stage of the pandemic (especially in light of Memorial Day & soon-to-be summer cabin fever), if you really "care" or "love" your family / friends, you would WEAR A MASK in public areas (including indoors) to keep yourself, and therefore, them SAFE...physical distancing is realistically impossible in many public areas. Sorry folks, NO exceptions! "Re-opening" actually makes mask-wearing even MORE necessary, not less, than during lockdown! Otherwise, there has to be a REALLY, REALLY good excuse (and just because some others are not doing it, is NOT a good excuse...For the love of "whoever", JUST DO IT and set a good example!)

Here's a JOB (below) that's HIRING with a likely favorable job outlook for the near future (given some people's Disregard / Contempt for physical distancing / wearing masks, as seen on many Memorial weekend beach / park photos, & decisions to go out instead of staying@home except for business during initial reopening ). Evidently, PEER PRESSURE is a REAL momentum-building force that begins with a SINGLE individual person's choice- let's leverage it to DEFEAT, not breed, COVID !
