Greater Golden Horseshoe/ Toronto symphony-level violinist (previously Associate Concertmaster of former Orchestra London) and professional private violin teacher (Technician/ Coach) Calvin Tsang, has been featured as a soloist on Charlotte's (North Carolina) very own classical radio station, W-DAV, in the "Mainstreet Sessions" series, performing the virtuosic Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate.  After completing his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance at Northwestern University (Illinois), where he studied with  renowned pedagogue Almita Vamos, he performed with numerous Canadian and US orchestras, including the renowned San Diego Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Virginia Symphony and Des Moines Metro Opera and has been a audition semi-finalist with TORONTO SYMPHONY and LA PHIL.  During his orchestra career, he had the honor to perform in  concert halls alongside the following classical music superstars: JAMES EHNES, JOSHUA BELL, Leila Josefowicz, LANG-LANG, Timothy Chooi, and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg as well as famous conductors including Barenboim, William Eddins, David Robertson, Hans Graf, and Jahja Ling, among others.  Moreover, Calvin is connected to an extensive network of top-notch musicians and teachers in the classical music world (USA / Canada).  Starting lessons at the age of 8, he made his public music debut with Austin's (Texas) TV station only 2 years later.  In his formative years, he garnered many honors/awards, including performing as concertmasters of his local school, region orchestras and most notably, that of Texas' All-State Orchestra only as a high school freshman.

Applying a balanced methodical approach, Calvin also has professional experience spanning over 20 years teaching/ mentoring violin students of all ages and levels and is currently accepting students for 1-1 online lessons in Willowdale/North York/Thornhill (virtual or in-person)/ Vaughan / Richmond Hill / Markham and Toronto area (Suzuki / RCM/ ABRSM) and beyond (including USA).  Through his unique methodology, a talented young student of his progressed and memorized the songs all the way to Suzuki Book 4 in less than 2 years of starting virtual lessons as a complete beginner!  A trusted veteran of the orchestra scene, he has provided unique insight to aspiring violinists (such as symphony audition candidates) and even orchestra colleagues.  Understanding the benefits of musical practice on children's IQ and EQ, he hopes to transfer social values such as attentiveness and diligence as well as musical skills to his students.  In his spare time, he is a weather buff and enjoys watching America's Got Talent.  He dreams one day to be featured as a panel judge for a talent show or classical music competition :)
